Pyeonggwang Apple

• Pyeonggwang-village in Dong-gu of Daegu is located at the lower part of Palgongsan Mountain and is surrounded with mountains like a folding screen set up all around, and famous for some 150 farming families fully engage in apple farming and produce 1,650 tons of apples yearly.
  
  The reason of becoming such a famous apple village is that the soil is sandy and deep so that not only water discharges easily but also they can utilize pure flowing water from the deep valley nearby, together with sufficient natural manure from wild grasses and farm animals. They have installed sprinklers in the apple farm, getting water from some 200m deep underground to secure uninterrupted water supply. More importantly, the temperature difference between daytime and tight time is so wide that it helps thickening the fresh of apple and makes them honey-sweet. They call their apple 『Pyeongggwang honey apple』 since they are sweet like honey.
  
  Such favorable comments for Pyeonggwang Apple by the consumers is because that they use more natural fertilizer than chemicals and use bags to help coloring, spread reflection films, have established low temperature storage and undergo through selection procedure before delivery.
  
  They produce mainly ‘Busa(Fuji)’, but Hongro, Aori, Segyeil and recently popular Hongok are also cultivated, and delivery period is spread from August prior to Full Moon’s Festival till May next year because they have facilities to control delivery time and supply fresh apples at the same time.

Doonsan Peach

• Doonsan-dong is located at the lower part of Palgongsan Mountain and the peach is mainly cultivated at the lower and slightly slanted land facing southeast with Palgongsan Mountain at its back. They have plenty of sunshine with less weather related disasters during the whole cultivation period and occurrence of damages by blight and harmful insects is reduced by using clean agricultural water.
  
  Red ‘Changbang’ and white Baekdo’ is mainly produced here and famous for their higher sugar content and juice compared to the peaches produced from other areas. These peaches contain plenty of carbohydrate and vitamins which will help neutralizing nicotine from smoking, blood circulation and skin care with great effect. Good peaches should have distinct color of its own species and should be free from traces of external wounds or damages by blight and harmful insects.
