It represents the beautiful natural landscapes of Palgongsan Mountain's sunrise and the Geumhogang River, and expresses the forward-looking spirit of the future-oriented Dong-gu residents by adopting a visually running human figure.

Utilizing the excellent resources of Dong-gu (i.e. Palgongsan Mountain, Geumhogang River), it symbolizes the essence of Palgongsan Mountain, which was also a training ground for Silla Hwarang knights, and the dignified image of the Geumhogang River, depicted through male and female characters.
